Preface

Dear Bouvier owners and Bouvier Breeders.

I have thought about several things for a long time, and considered pre’s and con’s carefully before I went to the builders of this website, Leo and Joke. After several talks that took hours and hours, we came to the conclusion that the Bouvierworld is very closed.

That is something that we understand perfectly, but which is not good for the breed of the Bouvier.

Unfortunately this means that the new generation of breeders and future owners of the Bouvier have limited knowledge about the breed. Relevant information is hard to get.

Very long ago in the past I have been on my own and I can tell you that I do not really have positive memories about that time.

Years and years I am studying pedigrees of our beloved breed, I have been to the dog shows to see the dogs and I have tried as much as possible to find the positive and the less positive aspects of the dogs. Of all of this I keep a record for over 30 years now, and that alone was not an easy task.

At some time it became my purpose to find the origin of certain qualities in the dogs. I have also learned a lot through experience. I have bred good and less good dogs myself too. The breeding of only Champions is something that no one can do. It is my intention to create more transparency in the Bouvierworld. I want to share my knowledge and experience with everyone. And the builders of this website give me that opportunity.
